Shipping & Returns
How is my shipping cost determined?
We pack your order, weigh and measure the box, and put that information along with your ship-to address into our UPS app. The app tells us the exact cost to ship your order, taking into account our volume shipping discount. We only charge you exactly what UPS charges us – no extra fees.
When will my order be sent?
We ship orders Monday–Friday except federal holidays. Most orders will be shipped out the next business day after they are placed.
How soon will I get my order?
We ship via UPS Ground and USPS First Class or Priority shipping to the contiguous United States. This typically takes about five business days; however, shipping duration depends on a number of factors. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer expedited shipping.
What if UPS does not deliver to my home?
Please let us know, so that we either ship through the mail (small, lightweight orders only) or help you determine an alternative ship-to address. Many people have their packages shipped to their workplace or another safe location.
What if I do not receive mail at my home?
Please be sure to let us know, so that we ship your package via UPS.
Do you ship to PO boxes?
Only small, lightweight packets can be shipped to PO boxes. Most of our orders ship UPS, which does not deliver to PO boxes.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes we do. For our international customers, please be aware of the following:
- Just as for our domestic customers, we charge actual shipping and do not add extra fees. Still, shipping is expensive.
- Any customs fees are your responsibility. It is against the law for us to falsify documents.
- For international shipments, we use the US Postal Service, which delivers to your country’s postal service. Contact us if you would like to arrange an alternative.
- Shipping times can be unpredictable, but usually we see a 2-4 week delivery time for international shipments.
- We cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items sent outside of the US or to warehouses or pick-up destinations.
What else should I know about shipping?
CHECKING YOUR SHIPMENT: Please open your box and check the contents against the enclosed receipt within two (2) weeks of the delivery date. Email or call right away with any problems or questions. We cannot be responsible for any missing, defective, or wrongly sent items if not notified within two weeks of delivery.
DAMAGE: If you open your box and find any contents broken, please stop, take photos, and contact us right away. Please do not throw anything away, including the box and packing material. The shipping carriers require specific photos of the outside of the box, the shipping label on the box, and the contents with packing material in order to make a damage claim. We cannot be responsible for any damage if not notified within 2 weeks of delivery.
EXTREME WEATHER: If you are receiving your box during extreme weather (very cold or very hot), please allow your box to sit for 24 hours in your home or garage before opening it, so that the contents can come to room temperature. Sometimes in the middle of winter or the middle of summer, our lenses can break due to thermal shock – meaning if they’ve been in a very hot or very cold truck, then brought inside and opened right away, sometimes they break due to the sudden temperature change.
I want to return my purchase.
We stand behind the quality of our merchandise, but if you are unhappy with your purchase in some way, please contact us (at email@example.com or 503-228-8347) within 30 days of receiving your order and we can discuss options. In the event that you return your purchase, you will be responsible for return shipping. We will promptly refund you for any re-sellable items that are returned to us within thirty (30) days of purchase, except certain cut-to-order or special order items which are non-returnable. On merchandise returned after 30 days but within a three-month period, we reserve the right to deduct a 20% restocking fee from the refund. We do not accept returns of any kind after three (3) months from the date of purchase. When packing a return, please include a note with your name, contact information, and sales receipt number to speed the process. We will not accept COD returns.
How long until I get my refund?
After your returnable item is received by us in re-sellable condition, we will process a refund within two business days with rare exception. You will be notified when this occurs. How long it takes to appear on your bank statement depends on your form of payment and bank.
